Saints Steady The Ship To Survive Sharks’ Constant Threats

BOSTON, Mass. – The Simmons University Volleyball team walked across the street to take on the Saints of Emmanuel College this evening where the Saints came out on top, 3-0.

How It Happened
  • Midway through the first set, the Sharks catapulted to a 7-1 run to tie the game at 14-all. The Sharks and Saints went shot for shot, as neither team led by more than two points for the remainder of the frame. Extra points were needed to decide the winner, but the home team prevailed, 29-27.
  • After the scoreboard read 10-10, Emmanuel began to pull away to claim the 2-0 edge (25-15).
  • The Sharks took command in a must win third set until the Saints rallied to knot it up at 16-all. Emmanuel used their home court to their advantage to come alive for the three-set win.
Beyond The Box Score
  • Hannah Pridgeon now has six double-doubles on the season.
  • Simmons returns to the Holmes Center on Thursday, October 16 to host the New England College Pilgrims.
