BOSTON, Mass. – The Simmons University Volleyball team hosted the New England College (NEC) Pilgrims this evening at the Holmes Center in league action. The Sharks controlled the ship en route to the 3-1 victory.

How It Happened

• After a back and forth opening first few points, the Sharks catapulted into the driver's seat thanks to an 8-1 run on their way to the 25-16 win.
• NEC snagged an early edge in the second but the Sharks regrouped for a 13-0 dominance to claim the second by a score of 25-14.
• In the third, the Pilgrims escaped with a narrow win to force a fourth frame. 
• Simmons battled back in the fourth set, holding the upper hand and stifling the Pilgrims' late rally for the 25-22 win.

Beyond The Box Score

• Hannah Pridgeon tied her season-high with 17 kills tonight.
• Sumaya Barre dished out a career-high 20 assists in the win.
• Kira Buonopane had a career night with nine kills.
• The Sharks play away this weekend as they travel to take on the Elms College Blazers on Saturday, October 18.
