No. 8 Nationally Ranked Gulls Top Sharks At Daly Field

BRIGHTON, Mass. – The Simmons University Field Hockey team welcomed the No. 8 Nationally ranked Endicott College Gulls to Daly Field this evening where the visitors came out with the 7-1 win.

How It Happened
  • The Sharks came out strong, recording the first shot of the day before the Gulls were able to break through in the fifth minute to lead, 1-0. Then, three saves from Haley Bright and a defensive save from Emma Fissel warred off the high-flying Gulls from widening the gap much more in the first. The visitors did grabbed one more tally late in the frame to go on top, 2-0 going into the second.
  • Endicott shot .500 in the second to tack on two more to lead 4-0 at the break.
  • Simmons allowed an early goal in the third, but the Sharks' defensive front put on a clinic to quiet the Gulls' six shots in the rest of the period.
  • In the 54th minute, Ainslee Shrout roped in a Shark goal to prevent the shutout in the7-1 Gull win.
