Judges Control Sharks In Non-League Play

WALTHAM, Mass. – Taking a break from non-league play, Simmons University ventured over to face the Brandeis Judges tonight where the Judges collected the overall 3-1 win over the Sharks.

How It Happened
  • Simmons jumped out to a 2-0 advantage before the Judges and the Sharks traded points through midway through the first frame. Brandeis slowly began to pull away as the Sharks held on down the stretch but the home team came away with the 25-20 win.
  • In similar fashion to the first set, the scoreboard remained tight in the early going before the home team widened the gap, seemingly to pull away with the win. However, the Sharks continued to fight to secure the come from behind, 26-24 victory.
  • The Sharks led by as many as eight (18-10), before the Judges used the home court advantage to match the Sharks with a come from behind win of their own, 27-25.
  • Brandeis took advantage of their momentum from the third set to secure the 3-1 overall win after taking the fourth by a score of 25-14.
Beyond The Box Score
  • Iliana Diaz reached double-digit kills for the second time this season with her 12 kills, which also matched her career-high.
  • This marks only the sixth time the Judges and Sharks have played each other.
  • The Sharks return to their home court to host Norwich and Albertus Magnus on Saturday, October 25.
