Lasers' Last Second Goal Dodges Sharks

BRIGHTON, Mass. – Simmons University Field Hockey remained on their home field once again this week as they hosted the Lasell University Lasers where the visitors scored late in the fourth to escape with the 2-1 win.

How It Happened
  • In the fifth minute, the Lasers were awarded a penalty stroke and the visitors converted to take an early 1-0 edge. 
  • Simmons out shot the Lasers 10-0 in the second frame but Lasell's defense did not allow a goal to keep the lead at the break (1-0).
  • With four minutes to go in the third, Simmons took advantage of a penalty corner as Hailey Brisson knocked in a shot after an Avery Allaire assist. (1-1).
  • The Sharks controlled the first half of the fourth quarter while the Lasers rebounded to control the game offensively for the final two and a half minutes, resulting in one goal to come away with the win.

  • Hailey Brisson has now scored three goals this season.
  • The Sharks hit the road for their next game day and will trek up to Nashua, N.H. to face the Rivier University Raiders on Wednesday, October 8.
