BRIGHTON, Mass. – Simmons University Soccer celebrated Senior Day as the Sharks hosted the Dean College Bulldogs on Daly Field today. The Sharks battled for 90 minutes and netted two goals for a come from behind 2-1 victory.

How It Happened

• The Sharks held the upper hand in shots and corners, but could not find the back of the net. The score remained 0-0 at the break.
• In the 61st minute, Dean struck first to lead, 1-0. Then, just 10 minutes after starting keeper Mikaela Marie Javar put on her field player jersey, the sophomore headed in a goal off of an assist from Lauren Krupnikoff to lock it up at one-all.
• Simmons used the hype from Javar's goal as a complete momentum shift. The Sharks fired off six straight shots, before Olivia Riley dribbled past her defender to boot in the go ahead goal with a nice shot from the right side of the field into the side left netting (2-1).
• For the final 11 minutes, the Sharks and Bulldogs traded one shot each, but the score held for Simmons to earn the conference win.

Beyond The Box Score

• Mikaela Marie Javar recorded her first collegiate goal in the second half.
• Rookie Olivia Riley booked her first game-winner of her Shark career and third goal on the year.
• Before today's game, the Sharks recognized their seniors: Stephanie Mendoza, Charlotte Sckaål, Carolyn Dorman, Kayla Noonan, Shannon Burns, Courtney Sweeney, as well as team manager Emma McEwan
• The Sharks hit the road for their next game day and will head up to New Hampshire to take on the Chargers of Colby-Sawyer on Wednesday, October 8.
