Chargers Glide Past Sharks

NEW LONDON, N.H. – Fresh off their come from behind victory on Saturday, Simmons University Soccer traveled up to the Granite State to play conference opponent, Colby-Sawyer College. After 90 minutes of action, the home team protected their home field with the 2-0 win.

How It Happened
  • In the seventh minute, the home team was able to tuck in a shot from the right side into the far left netting to take an early 1-0 advantage. Rookies Ella Askren and Gabriella Almonte mustered up three total shots on goal, but the Chargers held on to keep the Sharks off the board at halftime.
  • The Chargers tacked on another in the 67th minute, as their striker was in the right place at the right time to finish a rebound off the crossbar for an insurance goal en route to the 2-0 win.

  • Simmons is now at the midway point through their conference schedule.
  • The Sharks return to Daly Field for another conference tilt on Saturday, October 11 to host the Regis College Pride at noon.
