BOSTON, Mass. – For their second home game of the week, Simmons University Volleyball welcomed the Wheaton College Lyons to the Holmes Center. The Sharks got ahead early, but the visitors roared back to seal the overall 3-1 win.

How It Happened

• Right off the bat, the Sharks and Lyons tangled up into nine different tie scores before the home team used a timely run that was not halted by Wheaton's use of timeouts for the 25-20 win.
• In the second, the Lyons regrouped to secure the 25-13 victory (1-1).
• After trading points, the Sharks began to widen the gap, but the Lyons did not back down, flipping the script to take the 20-19 edge. The Sharks kept themselves in it, tying the game at 20, 23, and 24-all, but Wheaton stole the final points to go on top 2-1.
• Wheaton capitalized off of a mid-match scoring spree to come away with the 25-12 victory for the 3-1 win.

Beyond The Box Score

• Carolina Rodriguez matched her season-high with 21 digs.
• Rookie Addison Evans registered a career-high 13 digs. 
• The Sharks are on the road for their next contest as they travel to North Dartmouth to play UMass Dartmouth at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 11.
