GORHAM, Maine – Simmons University Volleyball took a break from league action to travel up the coast to play the University of Southern Maine Huskies. The Sharks did not intend to come back to Boston empty handed as Simmons earned the 3-1 victory.

How It Happened

• Down 15-12, Simmons put down three straight kills to knot up the scoreboard at 15-all. Both sides went shot for shot until the Sharks closed out the frame on a 5-2 run to go on top, 1-0 after the 25-21 win.
• Midway through the second, the Huskies pulled away to even out the score at 1-1 (25-16).
• The Sharks bounded back immediately, scoring seven straight early in the third to keep the home team at an arm's length for the duration to regain the lead, 2-1 (25-14).
• Simmons fell behind early, but that did not phase the gritty Sharks, as the visitors orchestrated a 10-0 scoring spree to flip the scoreboard to 11-4. The Sharks continued to control the pace before ending the night in four sets (25-16).

Beyond The Box Score

• Rookie Mia LeBrun recorded her best attack percentage of her first year campaign.
• Tonight's tilt marks the second ever contest between the two teams.
• The Sharks dip right back into conference play this weekend with a tri-match hosted by Colby-Sawyer where they will also play the Saint Joseph's College Monks on Saturday, November 8.
