Sharks Roll Past Chargers Before Monks Halt Their Momentum

NEW LONDON, N.H. – Simmons University traveled up to the Granite State to play their hosts, the Colby-Sawyer College (CSC) Chargers as well as the Saint Joseph's College (SJC) Monks. The Sharks captured the their 10th win of the season against the Chargers before dropping a close one to the Monks, 3-1.

Simmons vs. Colby-Sawyer
  • Two straight kills from seniors, Kate Petrosso and Iliana Diaz quickly put the Sharks out in front early in the opening set. The Chargers and Sharks traded short runs before a Hannah Pridgeon kill sparked eight unanswered points to close it out, 25-13.
  • Another 8-0 scoring spree sent the Sharks into the driver's seat midway through the second to go on top, 2-0 after another identical 25-13 win.
  • CSC orchestrated a long run of their own in the third frame that guided the home team to force a fourth set and eliminated the sweep.
  • Simmons bounced back to kick off play in the fourth to lead, 5-0. The Sharks remained in control, not allowing the Chargers to score more than two straight points at a time to claim the 25-16 win.
