SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Simmons University Field Hockey hit the road this afternoon as they traveled out to Springfield for a contest against the Springfield College Pride. The home team got the better of the Sharks in the 5-0 win.

How It Happened

• After a pair of timely saves from Shark keeper Haley Bright, the Pride were able to sneak a shot into the back of the cage to take the 1-0 advantage. Bright fended off two more scoring opportunities to bring her total to four saves in the opening quarter.
• Springfield's attack continued in the second frame en route to a 3-0 lead at halftime.
• The Sharks earned a penalty corner in each of the final two periods and only surrounded two more tallies in the loss.

• Keeper Haley Bright registered a career-high 12 saves today.
• Simmons returns to action one week from today on Saturday, September 6 at 11 a.m. to host the Salve Regina Seahawks at Daly Field.
