WELLESLEY, Mass. – Taking the pitch for their season-opener, Simmons University took the short trip to Wellesley College to square off against the Blue. The home team scored first midway through the first half and did not let up to secure the 5-0 victory.

How It Happened

  • Ella Askren nearly knotted up the score in the 28th minute, but the Wellesley keeper was able to hold the narrow lead going into halftime.
  • Wellesley came out of the break hot and did not cool off, recording 17 shots that turned into four goals in the second to take the win.
