BOSTON, Mass. – The Simmons University Volleyball team returned to their home court to host the Lasers of Lasell University tonight in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play. The Lasers were able to come out of Holmes with a 3-0 win.

How It Happened

• After a back and fourth opening first, the Lasers utilized a 6-0 run to begin to pull away en route to the 25-17 win.
• The Sharks kicked off the second with a kill from Hannah Pridgeon, followed by an ace from Abby Sousa to lead, 2-0. Once again the Sharks and Lasers traded points early before a steady run from the visitors widened the gap to secure the 20-25 victory.
• Simmons came on strong in the third to go on top, 6-2. However, Lasell began to chip away and for the third time used a 6-0 scoring spree to take the lead and ultimate 3-0 sweep (25-15).

Beyond The Box Score

• Newcomer Abby Sousa knuckled in a career-high four service aces tonight.
• The Sharks have the rest of the week off before returning to play on Tuesday, September 30 to host the Keene State Owls at 7 p.m. at Holmes.
