Simmons University

Brighton, Mass. – Simmons University Soccer began its five-game home stint this evening at Daly Field, welcoming the Albertus Magnus College Falcons for a conference match-up. After a scoreless first half, the visitors were able to find the back of the net twice in the second to come out with the 2-0 win.

How It Happened

• Mikaela Marie Javar was tested early as the Falcons recorded six shots in the opening 15 minutes, but Javar made three saves to keep the visitors off the scoreboard. In the 26th minute, the Sharks appeared to score off a perfectly placed corner kick, but an offsides call kept the game scoreless. A few minutes later, Angelina Tenore threaded a pass to Grace Nostrant, who fired a shot on goal that was saved by a diving Falcons goalkeeper. The teams remained scoreless heading into halftime.
• Six minutes into the second half, the Falcons broke through to take the lead before adding an insurance goal 20 minutes later to secure the victory.

Beyond The Box Score

• The Sharks return to Daly Field on Saturday, October 17, to host the Elms College Blazers for a 1 p.m. kickoff.
