Simmons University

BRIGHTON, Mass. – On a brisk October day, Simmons University Soccer hosted the Elms College Blazers in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action. After 90 minutes of regulation, neither team was able to find the back of the net as the Sharks and Blazers played to a scoreless draw.

• The Blazers earned several corner kicks early in the first half but were unable to capitalize on the opportunities. Midway through the half, Mikaela Marie Javar came up with a diving save to keep Elms off the scoreboard as the teams headed into halftime deadlocked at 0-0.
• Simmons continued to battle defensively in the second half, blocking multiple Blazer shot attempts. Much of the play took place through the midfield and along the sidelines as both teams worked to create scoring opportunities. The Sharks earned two corner kicks in the second half, while the Blazers had one, but neither side could break through before the final whistle.

Beyond The Box Score

• The Sharks held the Blazers scoreless for the first time in the teams' head-to-head history.
