Rams Halt Sharks In Non-Conference Play

Framingham, Mass. – The Simmons University Softball team ventured to nearby Framingham State to take on the Rams in non-conference play where the home team prevailed, 8-0 and 13-5.

Game One
  • After a scoreless first inning, Framingham State hit a solo shot to take the 1-0 edge. 
  • Simmons connected on a pair of hits in the third, fourth, and fifth inning but were unable to add to the scoreboard. 
  • The Rams tacked on a couple more down the stretch to lock up a win.
Game Two
  • The Sharks rebounded in a big way, to open up game two, with a two-out rally. Singles by Emery Kreidel-Reimer, Teagan Buckley, and Trinity Payne gave the visitors the 3-0 advantage.
  • In the bottom of the second, the Rams knotted up the scoreboard (3-3).
  • Simmons answered back in the top of the third, highlighted by a Kreidel-Reimer triple (5-3).
  • Then, in the home half of the same inning, Framingham crossed the plate six times to take their first lead of the second game. The Rams added to their total in the fourth and fifth to end it early.
Beyond The Box Score
  • Emery Kreidel-Reimer has recorded two hits in four of the past five games.
  • Trinity Payne booked her second multi-hit game of the young season.
  • Piper Kinney's three hits in game two matches her season-high of three which she did on spring break against Bluffton.
  • The Sharks return to league action on Saturday, March 28 to host the Monks of Saint Joseph's College (Maine) at Daly Field starting at noon.
