BOSTON, Mass. – Simmons University Women's Soccer welcomed Colby-Sawyer College (CSC) to Daly Field this afternoon for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) match-up. Despite controlling much of the play and holding a significant advantage in shots, the Sharks and Chargers battled to a scoreless draw.

How It Happened

• Simmons established the offensive tempo early, applying steady pressure on the CSC defense throughout the afternoon. The Sharks generated a number of quality scoring opportunities and nearly broke through in the closing moments of the first half when Lauren Krupnikoff ripped a shot toward goal, but the attempt sailed just wide as the teams entered halftime locked in a scoreless draw.
• The Sharks continued to dictate play after the break, out shooting the visitors 11-3 in the second half. However Colby-Sawyer's best opportunity came in the 38th minute, but veteran goalkeeper Mikaela Marie Javar answered with the save of the match. Javar fully extended to make a diving stop, preserving the deadlock and keeping the Chargers off the scoreboard. Simmons nearly found the breakthrough following a corner kick when Ella Askren's attempt clipped the crossbar and bounced away from the goal line.
• Despite holding a 16-5 advantage in shots and controlling much of the attacking play, the Sharks were unable to find the decisive goal as the two sides settled for a scoreless draw at Daly Field.

• Mikaela Marie Javar made her first start of the young season in goal today. 
• The Sharks hit the road on Tuesday, September 22 to face the Norwich University Cadets at 4 p.m.
