Kinney Named GNAC Pitcher of the Year; Highlights Six to Earn All-GNAC Honors

WINTHROP, Mass. – Junior right-hander Piper Kinney was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Pitcher of the Year for the second straight year announced by the League on Tuesday afternoon.

Highlighting six Sharks to receive All-Conference recognition, Kinney also was named to the All-GNAC First Team honors. Additionally, it is the fourth consecutive year Simmons has walked away with the GNAC Pitcher of the Year Award. (Maddie Castigliego, 2022 & 2023, Piper Kinney, 2024 & 2025).

It is the first time since 2002-2005 one institution has received the award for four straight years. The last time that has been accomplished was by Western New England University.

Senior centerfielder Raya Anderson was named to the All-GNAC First Team for the second straight year following a career year. Posting a .409 batting average with a staggering 1.057 OPS (.567 SLG%, .490 OBP), Anderson eclipsed Allie Mulhern to become the program all-time leader in stolen bases with 59.

First-year Zoe Soule rounded out the trio on the All-GNAC First Team. A three-time GNAC Rookie of the Week recipient, Soule was dominant in the middle of the Sharks lineup, hitting .411 with a .711 slugging percentage that included six doubles, three triples and five homeruns.

Junior shortstop Emily Deleault was named to the All-GNAC Third Team following a career year at shortstop, batting .313 with 10 doubles, a triple and 16 RBI from the top spot of the batting order.

Junior right-hander Ally Hyde joined Deleault on the All-GNAC Third Team. Hyde and Kinney made a formidable 1-2 duo in the circle for the Sharks all season. Receiving the first GNAC Pitcher of the Week honors, Hyde finished the season with a 5-6 mark, a 4.84 ERA and 42 strikeouts.
