NAC RELEASE

WATERVILLE, Maine – Following a 3-0 week for Simmons University Tennis, Amoli Vad was named the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Player of the Week, while Victoria McCrann earned Rookie of the Week honors. Additionally, Emma Parsons and Emilie Lapointe were selected as NAC Co-Doubles Team of the Week, as announced by the conference today.

Vad helped lead the Sharks to victories over UMass Boston, Albertus Magnus, and Gordon College, posting a perfect 3-0 record at No. 3 singles. She opened the week with a 6-1, 6-1 win over UMass Boston before earning a 6-0, 6-1 victory against Albertus Magnus. Vad capped the week with a hard-fought 7-6, 0-6, 6-2 win over Gordon's No. 3, helping Simmons secure a thrilling 4-3 team victory over the Fighting Scots.

The honor is the first NAC Player of the Week award of Vad's career after she teamed up to earn NAC Doubles Team of the Week recognition last week.

McCrann collected her second NAC Rookie of the Week honor after also going undefeated in singles play. The first-year picked up straight-set wins over UMass Boston (6-1, 6-2) and Albertus Magnus (6-0, 6-0) before closing the week with a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Gordon.

Parsons and Lapointe earned NAC Co-Doubles Team of the Week honors after posting a perfect 2-0 record at No. 2 doubles. The pair opened the week with a 6-4 victory over UMass Boston before cruising to a 6-0 win against Albertus Magnus, helping the Sharks remain unbeaten during the week.

The Sharks improved to 7-1 on the season and return to action this afternoon with a road match against Bridgewater State.
