NASHUA, N.H. – Simmons lacrosse (9-2, 7-0 GNAC) kept its perfect Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) record intact defeating Rivier University, 20-7, on the road, Wednesday evening. It was fourth time this season the Sharks put up 20-plus goals on an opponent.

The Sharks smelled blood in the water and went into attack mode, scoring 12 times in the first quarter of play. Senior Emi Boedeker ignited the offense, finding the back of the goal 12 seconds into the contests. Seconds later sophomore Kat Wood connected with graduate senior Abby Stoller before burying her first of two goals in the game to give the Sharks a 3- lead. 

Rivier jumped one the scoreboard a minute later and made it a two-goal, 3-1, game, but Simmons was far from done offensively. Rattling off eight straight goals including a pair from Stoller, the Sharks built themselves a 10-2 advantage before the Raiders scored on a player advantage opportunity. Sophomore Frida Turriza and senior Sammi Hogan capped off the 12-goal quarter with late goals in the period. 

The Raiders scored first to begin the second quarter, but senior Riley Campbell answered with back-to-back goals from juniors Julia Chausse and Marita Nothacker. Just before the end of the half junior Cameron Richards got into the frenzy and sent the team into the break with a 15-3 lead.

When the teams returned to the field at the start of the second half, the Sharks continued its offensive output. After sophomore Layla Drinkwater scored the 16^th Simmons goal, gradute senior Emily Duffley buried her second goal of the season to put the Sharks in front, 17-3.

The fourth period highlighted the trio of graduate students on the Sharks squad. In the opening minute of the final stanza, Duffley connected Stoller in the opening minute for her fifth assist of the season, while fellow graduate senior Kayla Boulas added a pair of goals, including the 20^th goal of the game. 

Both senior goalkeepers senior Katie Castle and Nicole Elliott made two 30 minutes appearances. Making her sixth start of the season, Castle improve to 6-0 registering six saves, while Elliott also recorded six saves in 30 minutes.  

SIMMONS HIGHLIGHTS

• Graduate senior Abby Stoller led all scorers with four goals and an assist for five points.
• Graduate senior Kayla Boulas recorded a career single-game high scoring two goals – both in the fourth quarter.
• Junior Marita Nothacker record one goal and two assists for three points, while also winning six draw controls.
