NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – Simmons University Lacrosse continued its tradition of excellence in the classroom as the Sharks were recognized by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) with Academic Honor Squad distinction for the 2025-2026 academic year.

Simmons earned the recognition for the 14th time in program history after posting a 3.72 team GPA during this past academic year. The Sharks were one of six Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) programs to receive the honor, joining Elms, Norwich, Regis, Rivier and Saint Joseph's College of Maine. To qualify for IWLCA Academic Honor Squad recognition, teams must achieve a cumulative team GPA of 3.20 or higher.

In addition to the team honor, six Sharks were named to the 2025-26 IWLCA Division III Academic Honor Roll, tying for the most selections among GNAC institutions. A total of 1,350 student-athletes from 174 institutions earned the distinction, which recognizes juniors, seniors and graduate students who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher. Simmons' honorees include: Leah Finn (Nutrition), Caroline Fleischhauer (Physical Therapy), Lauren Krupnikoff (Business/Finance), Kate Lawrence (Social Work), Kate Petrosso (Nursing), and Maria Turriza (Nursing).

To be eligible for the IWLCA Division III Academic Honor Roll, student-athletes must be a junior, senior or graduate student and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher.
