MANAHAWKIN, N.J. – After being named to the NFHCA National Academic Squad, three Simmons field hockey student-athletes were recognized as NFHCA Division III Scholars of Distinction announced by the coaching organization on Friday.
 
Senior Emilia Elko, sophomore Samara Buck and first-year Hailey Brisson were amongst 550 outstanding student-athletes from 135 to achieve the honors. This program acknowledges exceptional undergraduate student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.9 or higher through the fall semester, nominated by their NFHCA member coaches.
