Field Hockey Predicted To Take The Top Spot In GNAC Preseason Poll

GNAC RELEASE

BOSTON, Mass. – As announced this afternoon by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC), Simmons University Field Hockey has been selected as the front runner to take the crown this upcoming fall.

The Sharks were just one of two teams to reach triple digits in points with 111 as well as five first place votes. The New England College Pilgrims came in second with 110 points and three first place votes, followed by Colby-Sawyer with 98 points and two first place votes.

Simmons will look to continue to their momentum after an 18-4 (10-2) record just a season ago, a season that resulted in a GNAC Championship Title appearance.

Opening day will be on the road for the Sharks as they will battle the Pride of Springfield College on Saturday, August 30.
