GNAC RELEASE
WINTHROP, Mass. – Simmons University Softball's
Piper Kinney was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Pitcher of the Week for the third time this season.
Kinney was once again dominant in the circle for the Sharks this past week, throwing 14.1 innings, allowing just seven hits, striking out 22, while maintaining an unheard of 0.49 ERA.
In a nail-biting one-run 10-inning loss to fellow GNAC predicted No. 1 seed Albertus Magnus, Kinney scattered just seven hits and one earned run, while sitting down 12 by way of the strikeout. Then, Kinney took the mound the next day to no-hit the Thomas College Terriers in a 11-0 victory.
The Sharks hit the road for their next doubleheader, as they travel to nearby Framingham to play the Rams of Framingham State on Wednesday, March 25.
