WINTHROP, Mass. – Simmons University Field Hockey was selected sixth in the 2026 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Preseason Coaches' Poll, as announced by the conference office today.
The Sharks received 47 points in the preseason voting, placing sixth in the 10-team poll. Simmons finished one point ahead of the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.), which was selected seventh with 46 points, and nine points behind fifth-place Lasell with 56.
Dean earned the top spot in the poll with 89 points and four first-place votes. Saint Joseph's (Maine) followed in second with 86 points and two first-place votes, while Colby-Sawyer rounded out the top three with 85 points and three first-place votes.
Simmons opens the 2026 season with three straight games on the road, beginning nearby in Cambridge against MIT on Tuesday, September 1 at 6 p.m.
Following the season opener against the Engineers, the Sharks head to Pennsylvania for a two-game road trip before returning to Brighton for their home opener. Simmons will host Roger Williams on Wednesday, September 9 at Daly Field.
