GNAC RELEASE

WINTHROP, Mass. – Simmons University Volleyball earned three Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly honors, as announced by the league office this afternoon. Gabrielle Pattie collected both Setter of the Week and Rookie of the Week, while Carolina Rodriguez was named Libero of the Week for their standout performances this past week.

Pattie continued her strong start to the season, totaling 102 assists and averaging 7.85 assists per set across three matches. The first-year setter recorded two 40-plus assist performances, including 49 assists against Mount Holyoke and 40 assists against Bates. She also contributed 19 digs, and seven service aces during the week. 

Senior libero, Rodriguez, anchored the Sharks' defense throughout the week, totaling 61 digs and averaging 4.69 digs per set. Rodriguez also added five service aces and six assists. In Simmons' 3-0 GNAC-opening victory over Dean, she posted 12 digs, 10 receptions, and two service aces.

Simmons returns to action on Thursday, September 17 when the Sharks travel to Milton, Mass.for a non-conference contest against the Curry College Colonels.
