WINTHROP, Mass. – Following a strong performance in Simmons University Soccer's lone match of the week, junior goalkeeper Mikaela Marie Javar has been named GNAC Goalkeeper of the Week, as announced by the conference office this afternoon.

Javar recorded nine saves and her second shutout of the season as the Sharks battled Norwich University to a scoreless draw on the road in conference play last week.

Norwich fired 18 shots throughout the match, but Javar and the Simmons defense stood tall all afternoon. The junior made nine saves as well as halting several key opportunities from the Cadets to keep them off the scoreboard.

The clean sheet marked the first time Simmons held Norwich scoreless since 2022.

Simmons returns to action Wednesday evening when it travels to Franklin, Mass. to play the Dean College Bulldogs.
