WINTHROP, Mass. – As announced by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) this afternoon, Simmons University Field Hockey's Nora Desrosiers, Hailey Brisson, Emma Fissel, and Lilly Taglieri each earned spots on the GNAC All-Conference Team after excelling on the field this past season. Fissel was named to the Second Team in her defensive position, while Desrosiers (forward), Brisson (midfield), and Taglieri (midfield) secured Third Team honors. Additionally, senior Ainslee Shroutt was recognized on the GNAC Sportsmanship Team for her standout character on and off the field.
For the second straight season, Fissel earned a place on the GNAC Second Team after anchoring the Sharks' back line in 15 games played (14 starts). The junior was instrumental in helping Simmons post a 1.34 goals-against average, which ranked fourth in the league, limiting opposing offenses throughout the season. In addition to her strong defensive play, Fissel served as the primary inserter on the Sharks' penalty corners, playing a key role in generating offensive chances and tallying three assists. Offensively, she registered assists against Albertus Magnus, Regis, and Elms; all of which were Shark victories.
Rookie Desrosiers becomes the first Simmons first-year student-athlete to earn All-Conference Team honors since Emilia Elko '25 in 2021. Desrosiers racked up 12 points on six goals across 16 games played this season. Beginning on September 20, she scored in four consecutive conference contests, then delivered her first two-goal performance in a 6-0 rout over Elms. Most notably, the first-year topped the team leader board in both goals and total points.
Brisson was a constant force to be reckoned with on both ends of the field, starting all 18 games for the Sharks this fall. The sophomore tallied her first of two defensive saves of the season in the home opener while also dishing out an assist in the same game. Brisson then scored in back-to-back contests; first in a tough road loss to Saint Joseph's College (Maine), followed by a dominant win over Albertus Magnus, where she added another assist. She notched another goal in league play against Lasell before scoring twice alongside Desrosiers in the 6-0 shutout over Elms on October 18.
Taglieri made her second consecutive appearance on the GNAC All-Conference Team after another standout season in the midfield. The junior rarely left the field, starting all 17 games while recording four goals and three assists for a total of 11 points. Poised in pressure moments, Taglieri remained perfect on penalty strokes (2-for-2) and tallied one game-winning goal while assisting on another in a thrilling overtime road win against Rivier. The versatile midfielder also earned her first collegiate defensive save in late September.
